How do I say "We prefer cash" in the wedding invitation?

My fiancé and I just recently made a lot of expensive purchases (ie. new home). We'd like to ask our guests for monetary gifts. Is there any way we put this eloquently in the wedding invitation?


While you and your fiance may appreciate the monetary gifts, it would be best to avoid indicating your preference in the invitation. To your guests, it will imply that a gift is expected.

Instead, have your network of close friends and family let guests know verbally. Allow guests to have the final decision in this.
